The design and implementation of a low-power dedicated processor that will be integrated into the storage system and in order to reduce as much as possible the volume of the data needed to be stored in the storage system.

The amount of data stored in cloud archives increase dramatically from year to year. In order to allow the cloud companies to keep up with the growth in the coming years, it is necessary to make sure that the information is stored in the minimum possible disk volume. This requirement is very difficult to define and implement because it depends on the future use of the data and the data itself:
– Is it possible to use compression methods with distortion or not?
– To what extent is the information repeated and does it allow downloading duplicates?
Project Goals:
The design and implementation of a low-power dedicated processor that will be integrated into the storage system and in order to reduce as much as possible the volume of the data needed to be stored in the storage system.
Prerequisites:
Knowledge of logical design – mandatory
Familiarity with deduplication compression methods: an advantage
